Sahara Beck has quickly become a name synonymous with the Brisbane music scene, shaping the future of Australian music with her distinctive, quirky sound. An independent singer songwriter originally hailing form the Sunshine Coast, Sahara has set up a life and a musical legacy in Queensland’s capital city, Brisbane.
Organically evolving from the folk origins of her first releases, Sahara Beck now draws from a great melding pot of styles. Backed by a full band, she brings to life a fusion of up-tempo Gypsy Jazz and infectious Pop, paired with the very soul of the Blues and some gritty Rock for good measure. Sahara’s voice transitions, seemingly effortlessly, from her confronting and powerfully gutsy baritone to the hair raising, angelic heights of her falsetto. However, it’s her artistic use of anticipation, silence and volume variants in her arrangements, which makes relatable, her wisdom-rich lyrics and imparts the gift of emotion to the listener.
Gracing stages all over Australia, with her band, Sahara Beck has established a loyal following, evidenced by sold out shows, which is no mean feat at this stage in her career!
The respect for 20 year old Sahara Beck, is evident in opportunities to perform along side huge international acts including; The Beach Boys, The Cat Empire, Ball Park Music, Katie Noonan, Darren Middleton, Ben Lee, Xavier Rudd, Busby Marou, but to name a few.
Sahara’s live performance has also been witnessed by thousands on the stages of Australia’s biggest music festivals including; Byron Bay Blues and Roots Festival, Falls Festival, Big Pineapple festival.
